Mangaluru, Mar 1: C A Simon, a senior police officer known for his expertise in handling high-profile investigations, including the fake stamp paper scam and the Lokayukta corruption case, has been left without a post for over a year. The Karnataka government's decision to keep him without an assignment has sparked discussions within the department.
Simon, who previously served as the Lokayukta SP in Dakshina Kannada district, found himself in a difficult situation with no job and no salary. He was transferred just before the Lok Sabha elections last year, under the pretext that his posting was in his home district. However, the government did not provide him with any new position thereafter.
Having joined the State Crime Investigation Department (CID) in 2000 as a Detective Sub-Inspector, Simon worked his way up through the ranks to become an SP. His experience and skill led to his appointment in special investigation teams (SITs) for critical cases.
After being transferred from Mangaluru, Simon was appointed as SP in two SITs: one to probe a sexual harassment case against former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, and another to investigate a rape case involving former minister and current MLA Muniratna. Despite his contributions, the government did not offer him a permanent post even after these investigations were partially completed. He was eventually relieved from both SITs and returned to Mangaluru.
During his career, Simon served for several years in the CID before being transferred to the Lokayukta department by the previous government. His current state of being without a post or salary for such an extended period has raised concerns about the treatment of dedicated officers within the system.

Sun, Mar 02 2025Our constitution doesn't guarantee lucrative position/post for any employee. However , the salary is guaranted and by any cost Mr.Simon should get it. Atleast if he gets it iam happy because one person can't repair this dabba system.

Sun, Mar 02 2025No value for honesty in Govt. service. I also heard that one Officer has been transferred 40 plus times within a year. It shows the stupidity of the Govt. Some Officers who are good for nothing are given green pastured places so that they can graze graciously.

Sat, Mar 01 2025From the news it seems Mr Simon belongs to the honest breed. But honesty necessarily does not pay always. The state govt should make amends and give him his due post as soon as possible.
