Kuwait, Mar 5: Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, conducted first event of 2025, Dasotsava – ‘Bhava Thorana', a spectacular celebration of Kannada culture, tradition, and community spirit. The event, held recently, was attended by a large gathering of all Kuwait Kannada Koota families and natives from Karnataka.
The early morning began with a mesmerizing decoration beautifully designed by the public relations committee, led by Rajeshwari Ashok and Shilpa Hegde. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Kuwait Kannada Koota, president Tharendra Shettigar, vice president Dr Preeti Shetty, secretary Dr Guruprasad Subbarao, and treasurer Manjunath Jogi.













The president's inaugural address, delivered in eloquent and lyrical Kannada, set a captivating tone for the event. The cultural committee then took the stage, skillfully guiding the audience through a seamless Kannada narration that perfectly paced the program.
The morning festivities unfolded with a diverse range of engaging activities, including singing contests, vibrant fancy dress competition, and various cultural performances by children. The Fancy dress competition by children of the Koota stole the show. A well-articulated themed of different genre was showcased in the best dressed way. The parents’ efforts for their creativity and hard work were appreciated.
The event showcased exciting children's competitions and captivating cultural dances, setting the stage for the thrilling intergroup dance competition. Four teams participated with infectious energy, creating an electric atmosphere creating an ambience taking back to old memories.
The Marala Mallige team, led by convener Alaka and co-convener Rashmitha Praveen, successfully collaborated with the executive committee to release the magazine ‘E-Marala Mallige.’
The EC 2025 honored the meritorious students of the Koota who passed out in flying colors in their X and XII standard exams. In a heartfelt gesture, the executive committee from the previous year was felicitated for their dedication and invaluable contributions to the organization.
Furthermore, CA Prashant Shetty and his team unveiled the members' directory, adding another milestone to the event.
The showstopper was the impressive narrative show ‘Tulasi Kalyana’, masterfully presented by the cultural committee, led by Shanthala Sathish and Sourabha Vikram. This captivating spectacle seamlessly blended music, dance, and drama, leaving the audience spellbound. The stunning backdrop and impeccable lighting added a touch of magic, making it an unforgettable experience. Finally, KKK men’s group created an elegant ambience with light classical music enriching the atmosphere with rich culture and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The event concluded on a high note with a traditional South Indian afternoon meal, served on plantain leaves, showcasing a diverse range of mouth-watering dishes, including ‘kayiholige’.
