Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 10: The MSc Software Technology (MSc ST) Alumni Meet (SAMSTAA 2025) was conducted at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Institute of Management and Information Technology on March 8 at 11 am.

Nearly 30 students participated in this first-ever alumni meet conducted by the department. It was an engaging and memorable reunion that celebrated the institution’s rich legacy and transformative journey from a modest college to a prestigious university. The event was structured to honour the past, recognize progress, and foster renewed connections among its diverse alumni community.

The event began with a warm welcome by the dean of School of Information Science and Technology, Dr Hemalatha N. Following her, Fr Dr Kiran Cotha SJ, the director, emphasised the institution’s evolution in transforming the young lives, and stressed the need of alumni participation in strengthening the department.

In his speech, he appreciated the innovative activities by teachers and students. The programme featured dynamic performances including a mesmerising dance by the “Sparkle Squad” and an energetic routine by “Regal Rhythms.”

A specially curated video presentation revisited cherished memories, further strengthening the emotional connection among attendees. Two rounds of interactive games and fun activities, led by Anusha and Niyathi (Students of MSc ST), kept the atmosphere lively and engaging.

A dedicated networking session, skilfully facilitated by Mithun and Maeve (Students of MSc ST), allowed alumni to share their college experiences, professional journeys, and memorable moments. This session not only rekindled old friendships but also paved the way for future collaborations.

The event concluded with the felicitation segment where mementos were distributed by the faculty and was coordinated by Suchetha Vijay and Srinivas.

A thoughtful vote of thanks by Dr Rueban, HoD of Software Technology, encapsulated the spirit of the day by expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The entire event was coordinated by the faculty coordinators, Aravinda prabhu and Nausheeda with the student coordinators Ananth and Anusha from the first year MSc Software Technology batch.
