Mangaluru, Mar 12: DYFI, SFI, and JMS staged a protest at Clock Tower on Wednesday, March 12, condemning the provocative remarks made by BJP MLAs regarding the disappearance of a youth from Farangipete. The protesters alleged that these statements incite communal tension.

DYFI leader B K Imthiyaz said, "A young boy from Farangipete has been missing, and since then, BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders have been making inflammatory remarks, creating communal tension and misleading the public. Their statements are a blot on the Constitution, as they continuously blame the Muslim community for the incident."

He further criticized BJP MLAs Harish Poonja and Dr Bharath Y Shetty, questioning their credibility. "Harish Poonja should acknowledge that crimes, including rape, occur in his constituency. Will Dr Bharath Y Shetty accept that his constituency struggles with drug addiction?" he asked.

B K Imthiyaz demanded that the BJP MLAs apologize for their remarks. He also pointed out that instead of discussing developmental issues in the district, leaders attempt to incite communal violence through their statements. He urged authorities to file a suo motu case against them.
