Doha, Mar 12: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) successfully hosted Rajata Kreedothsava, a community sports event, as part of its silver jubilee year celebrations at Pearling School, Al Muntazah. With nearly 300 registrations, the event saw enthusiastic participation from members and their families, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
The tournament featured four teams Krishna (Blue), Kaveri (Green), Sharavathi (Yellow), and Nethravathi (Red) making for a colorful opening ceremony. KSQ president Ravi Shetty welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of sports in fostering community bonding and friendship. Quoting renowned Kannada poet Da Ra Bendre, he reminded everyone about the true spirit of sportsmanship and the grace required to accept both victory and defeat. Sports secretary Sarfraz conducted the oath-taking ceremony, setting the stage for a day of competitive yet friendly matches.































Mentors and team leadership:
KSQ advisors and senior members were assigned as mentors for each team.

Sports and activities
A variety of indoor and outdoor games were organized to engage all participants:
Indoor games: Chess, carrom, and chowkabara (a traditional board game).
Outdoor games: Frog jump, broad jump, three-legged race, sprint, relay, box cricket, lagori, and tug-of-war
Team sports: Volleyball (Men’s) and Throwball (Women’s)
Men, women, and children actively participated in the competitions, making it a lively and engaging event. The tug-of-war finale drew great excitement, with all four teams making their best efforts. The volleyball and throwball matches showcased the sporting talent within KSQ, delivering thrilling finishes that entertained the audience.
Organizing committee and key contributors
The successful execution of Rajata Kreedothsava was the result of dedicated teamwork and meticulous planning. Joint secretary LG Patil, along with sports secretary Sarfraz, played a key role in organizing and managing the tournament.
Other notable contributions included:
Design & communication: Kumar Swamy effectively managed event communications and the design of flyers and banners.
Event hosting & commentary: Sujith led the event as the master of ceremonies, while Naveen Shetty, Abdul Salam, Sumanth Shetty, and Shridhar kept the crowd entertained with engaging commentary.
Registration & logistics: The registration desk was efficiently managed by Kumaraswamy, Bheemappa, LG Patil, Bhuvana, and Bhavana. Environment & logistics secretary Shashidhar handled event logistics seamlessly.
Referees & game coordination: Various competitions were conducted smoothly by Ramesh, Pradeep, Dinesh, Shridhar, LG, Bhuvana, Bhavana, Bheemappa and Kumaraswamy, with support from volunteers Suraj, Nilesh, Sadanand Rai, Salam, Sunil Bhandary, Vasanth Kumar, Shridhar Nayak, Dhananjay Rai, Preethan Rai, Manoj Shetty, Rachan and a handful of volunteers from ATS including Dinesh & Ashwin.
First aid & medical support: Bheemappa coordinated first aid assistance with Aster Health Center, ensuring safety measures were in place.
Pranav Shetty and Vijaya Naresh of Pearling Sports Academy extended their support by providing the venue and additional facilities.
Closing ceremony & awards
The event concluded with a grand closing ceremony, where KSQ president Ravi Shetty expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors. Chief guest EP Abdul Rehman, president of the Indian Sports Centre, delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of sports and teamwork in community development, which was followed by the vote of thanks by LG Patil.
The winners were honored with medals and trophies at the victory stand, creating a moment of pride for all, especially the children.

The event was further enriched by the presence of ex-army personnel Shri Shankar, who attended throughout the event and inspired everyone with his presence. KSQ president honored him by draping silver jubilee special shawl. MC team have also acknowledged the presence of visiting parents of Sangha members.
Community support & acknowledgments
KSQ member P rabhuraj and wife Mallika took the initiative to provide healthy and nutritious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks, at nominal prices.
The team mentors played an essential role in motivating their respective teams throughout the event. Professional photography was handled by Umesh, capturing memorable moments of the tournament.
With strong participation, meticulous planning, and enthusiastic support from the KSQ community, Rajata Kreedothsava was a huge success, fostering a spirit of teamwork, friendship, and fitness among members.
