Udupi, Mar 12: Netra Jyoti ParaMedical and Allied Health Science College celebrated International Women’s Day.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Udupi Dr K Vidya Kumari, by lighting the lamp.

Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district Dr K Vidya Kumari, in her inaugural address said, “Women are the architects of social change and social development can be achieved only if men and women contribute equally.”

Advocate Mary Shreshta, spoke about the responsibilities of women in this male centric society.

Nadoja Dr Krishna Prasad koodlu, founder president of Netrajyothi Institution, expressed his views about sacrifice of women and role of women in progress of men.

Rashmi Krishna Prasad, director of the institution, in her presidential address highlighted the importance of celebrating women’s day every day to honour women by not only limiting it to one day celebration.

Rashmi Krishna Prasad, director of the institution was honoured with the title of ‘Netrajyothi Iron Women’ by Deputy Commissioner Dr K Vidya Kumar on the occasion. Receiving the honour she said that women should be able to achieve in all fields and highlighted the responsibilities of women in the future.

Student Devaraj welcomed the gathering and Pavan Kumar delivered the vote of thanks. Convener of Institution Madhav Poojary compered the event.

The event was attended by COO of institution Dr Gowri Prabhu, H R Tara Shashidar and others.
