Moodbidri: Recently-married Man Commits Suicide near Wife’s Home

Moodbidri, Jan 16: Dinesh Poojary (38), son of Bhatramane Raghu Poojary from Kodical in Mangalore, who had married for the second time just seven months ago, committed suicide near his wife’s home on the night of Saturday January 14.

Dinesh had divorced his first wife. Thereafter, he got married again seven months ago. Earlier, he used to work as a driver at Bangalore. The family of his second wife reportedly provided him with monetary assistance by way of margin money to buy a Tata Sumo vehicle, duly asking him to avail of bank loan towards differential amount.

Dinesh and his wife visited Moodumarnad on Saturday and went to a few temples. Parents of both of them were at home that day. At around 9 pm on Saturday, Dinesh choose to hang himself from a cashew tree near his wife’s home by using his own lungi.

It is generally perceived that monetary crisis led Dinesh to take this extreme step, with some claiming that failure to get bank loan had frustrated him. At the same time, presence of other problems cannot be totally ruled out. A case was registered in the local police station.
