Lucknow, Mar 22: A land dispute between two brothers took a tragic turn, leading to the death of an innocent man in Shishva village under the jurisdiction of Tarabganj police station, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm when a heated argument broke out between Shrichand and Bhagwati over the construction of a wall on inhabited land. The verbal altercation soon escalated into chaos, with both parties reportedly resorting to hurling crude hand grenades, locally known as ‘Hathgola.’

Amidst the commotion, a 52-year-old resident, Ramshankar Mishra, who was sitting on the roof of his house, was fatally struck by one of the explosives.
Upon receiving information, police personnel, along with senior officers, rushed to the scene. The deceased's body was taken into custody and sent to Gonda headquarters for post-mortem examination.
In light of the incident, authorities have fortified the village, and a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of BNS. A thorough investigation has been launched.
Station officer Vivek Trivedi confirmed that legal action is being taken based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family. Meanwhile, to maintain law and order, police forces have been deployed in the village.
Assistant superintendent of police stated that a murder case has been filed against four identified individuals, and multiple police teams have been mobilized to nab the accused.
The situation in the village remains under control, with additional security measures in place to prevent further unrest.
