Raipur, Mar 25: Security forces eliminated three Maoists in an intense encounter along the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh, as part of an ongoing anti-Naxal operation.

According to police sources, the operation was launched based on intelligence inputs about Maoist movement in the region. Elite commando units, including DRG (District Reserve Guard) and CRPF, engaged in a gunfight with the insurgents, resulting in the neutralization of three Maoists.

Security forces have launched a combing operation in the dense forest areas to track down any remaining Maoist cadres. Weapons and explosives were recovered from the encounter site, indicating a planned Maoist offensive that was thwarted by security personnel.

Chhattisgarh remains a Maoist stronghold, but security forces have intensified operations, leading to a series of successful encounters and surrenders in recent months. Officials have reiterated their commitment to eradicating left-wing extremism from the region.

The search operation continues, and further updates are expected as security forces tighten their grip on insurgent activities in the area.
