Amaravati, Mar 25: The sudden and suspicious death of Pastor Praveen Pagadala in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district has triggered widespread concerns and protests.

His body was discovered early Tuesday morning next to his Royal Enfield motorcycle by the roadside at Kondamuru, near Rajahmundry. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, fueling speculations of foul play.

The pastor had attended a church event in Kovvur on Monday night and later left for Rajahmundry. CCTV footage from a toll gate in Kovvur captured him riding his bike while wearing a helmet. Hours later, he was found lifeless, with no visible signs of an accident at the scene.

Tension escalated outside Rajahmundry Government Hospital, where his body was brought for autopsy. Relatives and members of Christian organizations staged protests, asserting that Pagadala was murdered and that the incident was staged to appear as an accident. They demanded a comprehensive investigation.

Pagadala was a well-known figure, frequently appearing on the Christian satellite channel Calvary TV. A month ago, he had reportedly posted on social media expressing concerns that his life was in danger.

His friends and followers highlighted inconsistencies in the alleged accident theory. They noted that his vehicle bore no impact marks, his helmet remained intact, and there were no signs of a crash at the location. Additionally, they alleged that he had previously received public threats but was not given any security.

Prominent evangelist and Praja Shanti Party President K. A. Paul has called for an in-depth inquiry into the pastor’s death. He urged the state’s Home Minister, Director General of Police, and Superintendent of Police to take immediate action and ensure justice.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the truth behind Pagadala’s tragic demise.
