Mangaluru, Mar 26: "During the holy month of Ramzan, students coming together to share love and harmony is a commendable act. This should not be limited to just one month but should continue throughout the year, allowing everyone to understand and appreciate the cultural and religious practices of others. Such efforts by young students can help create a positive atmosphere, paving the way for a developed and strong India," said assembly speaker U T Khader.
He was speaking at the ‘Souharda Sangama Iftar Meet’ organized by backward-class students at the post-matric minority girls' hostel in Konaje.


















Mangalore University vice chancellor Prof P L Dharma expressed his appreciation for the first-ever communal harmony Iftar gathering at the university's girls' hostel. "Harmony should come from the heart. Prayers offered during Ramzan should extend to the needy and those in distress. Students should also develop a mindset to fulfill their parents' aspirations," he remarked.
Among those present were district officer for backward classes Bindiya, district information officer Khader Sha, taluk extension officer Mohammad Farooq, hostel wardens Ratnamma and Pushpalatha, former Balepuni gram panchayat member Mohammad Nasir Nadupadavu, Ibrahim Nadupadavu, block Congress president Ramesh Shetty Boliyar, Mangalore University syndicate member Achyutha Gatti Konaje, former Konaje gram panchayat member Gulabi Shettigar, Pajeeru gram panchayat member Imtiyaz, women’s Congress president Chandrika Rai, former Konaje gram panchayat president Chanchalakshi, former member Shaukat Ali, and former taluk panchayat member Padmavati.
