Tel Aviv, Apr 2: A team of Israeli scientists has developed an advanced AI tool, scNET, which promises to transform cell research and drug discovery by enhancing the precision of genetic data analysis.
Developed at Tel Aviv University and published in Nature Methods, scNET improves single-cell sequencing by filtering out background noise and mapping gene interactions. This innovation enables researchers to detect subtle biological responses that traditional methods often miss.
In trials, the tool analyzed T cells, crucial for immune response, revealing how certain cancer treatments enhance their tumor-fighting ability an insight previously overlooked.
“This breakthrough shows how AI can cut through biological complexity,” the university stated. Scientists believe scNET could accelerate drug discovery and lead to more personalized treatments by offering deeper insights into cellular behavior.
