Bantwal: Two-wheeler Rider Dies in Accident

Bantwal, Jan 18: A person lost his life after the Honda Activa scooter he was riding was hit by a mini truck at Mani Jnction on national higway on Tuesday January 17.

Vasant Bhat (34), son of Shankar Bhat from Nelli near Shambhoor in the taluk, was the victim of the accident. He was riding his two-wheeler towards Puttur from Soorikumeru for attending a puja there, when the accident occurred. The truck in question was going to Mangalore from Uppinangady.

Bhat is survived by wife and a daughter. The scooter got completely flattened after being crushed under the wheels of the truck.
