Kadaba: Man dies after falling from coconut tree

Kadaba, May 6: In a tragic incident, Umesh Poojary (46), a resident of Pallatadka in Barya village of Kadaba taluk and son of the late Aithappa Poojary, lost his life after falling from a coconut tree in his home garden.

The incident occurred, when Umesh climbed a coconut tree to pluck coconuts and accidentally slipped, sustaining severe injuries. He passed away while being taken to a hospital in Mangaluru, according to the complaint filed with the police.

Umesh, who worked as a daily wage labourer, was also actively involved in social service. He served as the vice-president of the Deraje Federation under the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son.
