France, May 8: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their place in the UEFA Champions League final after a 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the second leg of their semifinal clash at Parc des Princes on Wednesday night. With the win, PSG emerged victorious with a 3-1 aggregate score, having won the first leg 1-0 away from home.
The match started with Arsenal creating several chances, with Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli both testing PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Martin Ødegaard also had an attempt saved. PSG responded with their own opportunities, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hit the post from the edge of the box.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 27th minute when PSG's Fabian Ruiz scored a brilliant goal from 18 yards. Despite Arsenal’s persistent attacking efforts, the first half ended 1-0 in favor of PSG.
In the second half, Arsenal continued to push forward, with Bukayo Saka seeing his shot saved by Donnarumma. However, PSG extended their lead in the 72nd minute when Achraf Hakimi finished off a well-executed pass from Kvaratskhelia, assisted by substitute Ousmane Dembélé.
Arsenal pulled one back in the 76th minute when Leandro Trossard's pass found Saka, who slotted the ball past Donnarumma to make it 2-1. Despite a few more opportunities, including a potential equalizer for Saka, PSG held on to their lead and booked their ticket to the final.
PSG will now face Inter Milan in the final, set to take place in Munich on June 1.
