Ceasefire violated: BSF Jawan martyred, 7 soldiers injured in Pak shelling at Jammu

Daijiworld Media Network - Srinagar

Srinagar, May 11: Despite a ceasefire agreement brokered between India and Pakistan earlier this evening, Pakistan violated the truce within hours by launching a shelling attack on Indian territory, resulting in the martyrdom of a BSF jawan and injuries to seven other soldiers.

The ceasefire was declared with US mediation, but merely three hours later, Pakistan resumed hostilities by launching an attack in the RS Pura sector of Jammu. In the shelling, BSF sub-inspector M D Mohammad Imtiyaz was martyred. Seven other soldiers sustained injuries, reports said.

The sudden attack caught Indian forces off guard, leading to multiple strikes in certain areas before a response could be mounted. This incident once again underscores the view that Pakistan cannot be considered a trustworthy neighbour.

@ Ganesh, Mangalore Well written. Very informative. Do you think prolonged war may lead to another World war. ? India has enough support by world countries, but ultimate result could be a Universal disaster.

Our leaders talk extensively and and drop the action mid-way/incomplete owing to Superpowers tactics. Repeated wars would not bring fair result unless decisive advance is aimed at right direction. Enemy has already tasted the fun in wargames. (Like Tom & Jerry tussle)

What is the benefit of ceasefire if lives of soldiers are lost after it? Why did India give in without eliminating other wanted terrorists?

Ceasefire with a state which considers terrorists as martyrs and has know no PEACE. If Pakistan seeks peace it would have never attacked on civilians and majore cities on border states. Hope people who advocating for de-escalate and peace might have come to their senses. May this martyr rest in peace...

Pakistan has China at its side. China will help Pakistan covertly. For china its is like killing 2 birds in one shot. on the one side they were itching to know the prowess of their Jets against western made US and French Jets to fight a war against Taiwan. They also want to keep India in tenterhooks so that India will keep bleeding economically and will not be a challenger to China in future. US will not support India in the same vein as the chinese support to Pakistan. US also wants its vey costly F35 to be sold to India. it will be happy if rafales fail. Chinese have given a statement in media that they will stand with Pakistan in the time of War. China being militarily superior and on Par with US, it will be a very tricky situation for India. Although the Chinese are unlikely to Join the war but will more likely supply ammunition and Jets to Pakistan. Similarly Turkey is bound to give their Drones to India no matter how much Drones India shoots down. It would be better for India to Balochs and Pashtuns in Pakistan for their independence.
