Mangalore, Jan 24:
"The defamatory statements against Muslim community by RSS leader Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka during his speech at the Hindu Samajotsava is strongly condemned by the Muslim Central Committee," Al Haj K S Mohammed Masood, president of The Muslim Central Committee (DK and Udupi district).

At a press conference held on Tuesday January 24, Masood said that during the Samajotsava in Uppinangady on Sunday January 22, Dr Bhat "humiliated the women of Muslim community," which is unfortunate and regrettable.

"We would have co-operated with Samajotsava, but calling the whole community as thieves and cheats is strongly condemned," he said. "The love jihad allegation levelled by Dr Bhat is baseless," he added.

"Dr Bhat has an attitude of questioning the presence of police. He has also been disturbing communal harmony. He should be immediately arrested and be barred from entering the district," said Masood. He also criticized Dr Bhat for belittling ‘Shariah’, the Islamic law.

He informed that a protest will be held in front of the DC’s office here on January 30 at 3 pm urging police to book Dr Bhat under goonda act and arrest him.

Committee members Ibrahim Kodijal, Abubakkar, Ashraf among others were present.

Mangalore, Jan 24: "Hindu Samajotsavas have been organized for 20 years, and the one in Uppinangady was held this time to create awareness among Hindus about the perils of the proposed Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill," said Prof M B Puranik, regional vice-president of state VHP.

He was addressing a press conference here on Tuesday January 24.

"Prior permission was also obtained and plenty of policemen were also present. However, a group of people belonging to another community pelted stones on those who were returning after the completion of the Samajotsava. Though people had other ways to express their protest, they crossed all legal limits," he said.

"Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang Dal strongly condemn the police action of registering FIR against Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka. Hindus who came to Samajotsava did not posses any stone or weapon with them, but people of other the community with the intention of creating chaos at the venue, assaulted the people," he said.

He also said that Dr Prabhakar Bhat is a straightforward man who calls 'black as black' and added that if case against him is not withdrawn, more pressure will be put.

He continued, "Restraining the freedom of expression of Hindus is against the provisions of the Constitution of India and political leaders joining hands with people involved in religious conversion, cow slaughtering, love jihad and drug mafia is dangerous.

VHP and Bajarang Dal leaders Jagadeesh Shenava, Gopal Kutthar, Sharan Pumpwell, Shivanand Mendon, Harish Amtady were present at the press conference.

I do not know who my father is but my mother told me and I believe. I never asked where in which family I should be born. I was born in a Muslime family I am happy, I am born in a christian family and I am happy, I am born in a Hindu (whatever caste) I am happy. But I am an Indian. It was not my decision to be born in whatever religion or community. If my fore fathers got converted or did not convert is not my problem. I am an Indian. Let me live as an Indian allow me to be in any religion / community but be an Indian.

Who is a terrorist? One who did Samjautha express blast ? malegaon blast? 7/11 ? 9/11 ?, Goan Inquisition ? Misleading the world about weapons on mast destruction and using it as a pretext to attack and kill innocents in Iraq? Punjab insurgency? etc, etc the list is endless. This evil exists across religious lines. The likes of Prabhakara Bhat are there in all religions, who will milk the cow of intolerance to serve thier ends. The people who suffer are the poor. Hope one days the people will see through this game and teach these intolerant guys in all religions a lesson. But we have to wait and a lot of water will flow under the bridge.

If Prabhakar Bhatt is thinking it is a way to become famous and enter the second stage in our politics, let me warn him that he is wrong and will never be successful. Every Tom Dick and Harry wants to become famous by defaming other communities for their political gain. I have some Hindus, Muslims and Christian Friends but none of us ever spoke against each other anytime till now. We are good friends and will remain so regardless of our religion we belong to.Politicians you better find some other ways for publicizing yourself and just leave the religion factor to itself. Everyone is educated these days and you can never fool anyone, may it be Hindus, Christians, Muslims. Instead do some social work and charity work out of your own money to climb the political ladder.

Mr Dinesh Poojary.. 1st of all terrorism is not related with only one community.Terrorism has no face or religion. What about terrorist acts & bomb blasts by VHP related people couple of years ago.. And what about the flag of Pakistan being hoisted in our state. As an Indian i dont want such notorious criminals & trouble makers such as Mr Prabhakar Bhat or any one who disturbs our harmony. Lets all open our eyes and rise above caste and religion and only then we will live lifes of peace and prosperity and not get infected with these IDIOTS

On one hand congress is suppressing the freedom of speech by not allowing Salman Rushdie(at the time of UP elections, to cash on Muslim votes) , the other hand BJP is hell bent on destroying every other community but stirring communal unrest, where we the real secularists have to go. Is India a real democracy or a banana republic?

Bhatta is straight forward and he calls "Black as Black"

Let him call Black as Black as an Indian we dont have any issue with him, Issuee come only when he stands provocative words against other community members, what is there to gain if he raise his voice against Muslims & Christians, I think he need to take treatment at Rehabilitation Center in or out of India. So that he spread the peace message to my brother Indians, I know sisters love peace in society so i addressed brother Indians.. Thanks Guyzz.!

VHP is correct. Case should be withdrawn.

The terrorists are provoking and killing us is OK for government. If Mr Prabhakar Bhat tells some word about the miscreants, what is there to make that such a big issue ???

All Indians please give a thought on this.

Mr Bhat is very innocent person. Unnecessarily he is targeted.
