Sankhali, Jun 7: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held a Janta Darbar in Sankhali on Saturday, providing a platform for citizens to voice their grievances directly before the state government. The outreach initiative, aimed at strengthening grassroots governance, drew participation from several residents seeking swift redressal to their issues.

The CM assured that citizen concerns raised at the Darbar would be addressed promptly by respective departments. “Janta Darbars help bridge the gap between people and the government. We are committed to responsive and transparent governance,” Sawant stated.

Earlier this week, on June 3, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Lenovo LEAP Digital Innovation Lab at the Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to upskill 10,000 students in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Full Stack Web Development.

With a strong focus on inclusivity, the initiative targets at least 40% women participants and aims to reach 1,000 students with disabilities. The hands-on learning environment will serve as a key driver for digital transformation in Goa.

Additionally, on June 2, CM Sawant termed the creation of a dedicated Divyang Department in his government as a "major change" in championing the rights of differently abled persons in the state.

“This is a transformative step after the International Purple Festival. I thank Divyang minister Subhash Faldessai for his excellent work. Goa is ahead of many states in welfare efforts for persons with disabilities,” Sawant told ANI at the ADIP Assessment Camp’s concluding event.

These developments underline the Sawant-led government's commitment to inclusive development, youth empowerment, and citizen engagement across the state.
