New York, Jun 28: Renowned nutritionist Dr Eric Berg, best known for his work on healthy ketosis and intermittent fasting, has shared what he calls his “No.1 most important weight loss tip”—and it’s strikingly simple: Don’t eat if you’re not hungry.
In an Instagram post dated January 19, Berg urged followers to tune in to their body's natural hunger cues rather than eating out of boredom or routine. “The next time you’re about to eat, ask yourself this question: Am I really hungry or not?” he said in the video.
According to Berg, eating when you're not physically hungry leads to increased hunger later. “When you're not eating, you're actually burning your own fat. That’s good, clean fuel,” he explained. “This isn’t about cutting calories—it’s about being in tune with your body and eating only when your body is telling you to.”
He added that fasting allows the body to tap into fat reserves efficiently, helping with sustainable weight loss and better energy levels.
Berg’s mindful approach encourages a healthier, more intentional relationship with food, contrasting the typical diet culture focused on restrictions and timing. His advice comes as a refreshing shift for many trying to ‘melt belly fat’ through more natural and body-aware strategies.
