Beltnagady, Aug 6: In connection with the Dharmasthala mass burial case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday began excavation at the 14th location where human remains were recently discovered.

According to SIT sources, the remains — including a skull, a saree, and a pair of men’s slippers — were found beneath a tree approximately 80 meters from the 11th site. The excavation is now underway at this spot.

The location, now referred to as the 14th site, was discovered accidentally when complainants were accompanying SIT officials to another area.

Of the 13 sites previously identified by witnesses and complainants, excavation has already been completed at 12. Notably, human remains were recovered only at the 6th site on July 31. On August 5, SIT had excavated the 11th and 12th sites, but no remains were found there.

Meanwhile, excavation at the 13th and final site identified by the complainants is yet to begin, and the reasons for the delay remain unknown.
