Fresh Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 31; scholars accuse Israel of genocide

Deir al-Balah, Sep 2: At least 31 people, including women and children, were killed on Monday as Israel carried out fresh strikes across the Gaza Strip amid its ongoing offensive in the territory’s largest city, health officials reported.

Witnesses in Gaza City’s outskirts and the Jabaliya refugee camp said explosive-laden robots were used to demolish buildings. “Another merciless night in Gaza City,” said Saeed Abu Elaish, a medic from Jabaliya now sheltering in the city’s northwest.

Meanwhile, a group of leading international genocide scholars joined rights organisations in accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza — charges that Israel has strongly denied.
