Mangaluru: Woman killed after falling into pothole, run over by truck in Kulur

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 9: A tragic accident at Kulur on Tuesday September 9, claimed the life of a private hospital worker, Madhavi, after her scooter hit a large pothole on the road.

According to eyewitnesses, Madhavi lost control of her scooter due to the pothole, fell onto the road, and was run over by a passing fish-laden truck, leading to her spot death.

Local residents expressed anger over the negligence of authorities, pointing out that several potholes stretch along the highway from Mulki to Pumpwell. They alleged that officials act only when fatalities occur, ignoring repeated appeals for road repair.

Residents warned that if urgent measures are not taken, more lives could be lost due to the dangerous condition of the roads.

As per law there is a provision to file a case in the Court to get justice. Let the concerned officers and the District Administration wake up and carry out the road repairs and filling up big pot holes and swimming pools on the roads immediately .If not done many lives will be lost due to roads pathetic condition. Such kind of negligence /derelection has to be dealt seriously.

Our people only know to to brag about how great a nation we are, but in reality we are a laughing stock. NHAI is supposed to taken care of the upkeep of this road, but they are not bothered at all. See the stretch in nanthoor which has been dug up and there is no footpath for pedestrians altough there is enough space for constructing two more lanes. I am really sad for the family of the unfortunate lady and may her soul rest in peace while I curse the people who take bribes and let such accidents happen because of their carelessness.

My heart breaks that Madhavi’s life was lost to corruption and negligence. Every tear of her family questions corrupt politicians, careless officials, and greedy contractors. My tax is drowned in blood instead of safe roads. And if we give or take bribes, we too share the guilt—are we not part of Madhavi’s death? A strong revolution is the only answer before more lives are buried on our roads.

I think some hidden temple under this pothole. Need to build a small temple along side this road so that no deaths occur in the future.

Sad. We live in a so-called third-world country where nobody takes responsibility for anything. We pay taxes like fools, while corrupt politicians and useless bureaucrats shamelessly enjoy the benefits of our hard-earned money.

Nothing good will come out of this tragic incident. This will be just another statistic as lives of common people are cheap. Those responsible for this incident will not be affected one bit.
