Mumbai on high alert after fresh bomb threat call

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 11: Mumbai Police were placed on high alert Thursday after an unknown caller dialed the 112 helpline and threatened to detonate a bomb in the Arabian Sea, according to an NDTV report.

The latest scare comes just days after a September 5 hoax message claimed that 34 “human bombs” had been planted in vehicles across the city and warned that 14 Pakistani terrorists carrying 400 kg of RDX would “shake up Mumbai.”

Following that earlier threat, the Crime Branch arrested 50-year-old Ashwinikumar Sureshkumar Supra from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the hoax. Police investigations into the fresh threat are ongoing, and security has been tightened across key locations in the city.
