Car rams shop in Ghatkopar, three hurt; driver on the run

Mumbai, Sep 13: Three people were seriously injured early Friday when a Kia Seltos smashed through a barricade, crossed the footpath and rammed into a shop wall on LBS Marg in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar.

The accident occurred around 6:30 am, leaving the car and nearby barricades badly damaged. CCTV footage shows the vehicle resting on the shop’s steps and captures two women and a man exiting the car. While the women were detained, the man fled, police said.

Locals alleged the trio appeared intoxicated. Police recovered liquor bottles from the vehicle and suspect alcohol consumption. A case has been registered and a search is underway for the absconding man, officials told PTI.
