Cyber thieves hack ex-CM Sadananda Gowda’s bank accounts, steal Rs 3 lac

Bengaluru, Sep 17: Cyber criminals hacked into the bank accounts of former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda and stole Rs 3 lac.

The incident came to light when Gowda spoke to the media after attending a felicitation programme organized at the BBMP Park in RMV Extension on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. The event was held to honour 75 civic workers.

Gowda revealed that his three bank accounts had been hacked the previous day, with Rs 1 lac siphoned off from each account, totalling Rs 3 lac.

The hacked accounts belonged to HDFC, SBI and Axis banks. The theft was carried out through UPI transactions. Gowda said he would be filing a complaint with the cybercrime police.
