Husband kills wife with machete in Chikkamagaluru amid dowry, intimacy disputes

Chikkamagaluru, Oct 13: A shocking case of domestic violence was reported in Chikkamagaluru after a 27-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her husband late Sunday night, allegedly over a volatile marital dispute involving dowry harassment and refusal of physical intimacy.

The victim, identified as Nethravathi, was killed by her husband, Naveen, just five months after their marriage, which was arranged through a matrimonial website.

Police confirmed the couple’s married life effectively ended after only 15 days, when Nethravathi returned to her parental home. She had previously filed a police complaint, alleging dowry harassment and mental torture by Naveen and his family.

Sources indicate that Naveen grew increasingly frustrated by his wife's allegations. Approximately 20 days ago, he had approached the superintendent of police's office with a counter-complaint, accusing Nethravathi of refusing physical intimacy and filing false dowry charges against him.

In an attempt at mediation, police had referred the estranged couple to the Sakhi Counselling Centre. However, Naveen allegedly continued to harbour anger over the ongoing legal cases and divorce proceedings.

The fatal attack occurred late last night. Taking advantage of the fact that Nethravathi was alone, Naveen allegedly broke into her house and violently attacked her with a machete, inflicting grievous injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Police have registered a case of murder and have launched an intensive manhunt for Naveen, who fled the scene immediately after the attack. A special police team has been formed to track down the accused.

Nethravathi's body is currently at the Chikkamagaluru mortuary. Her grieving parents and relatives have expressed outrage and are demanding strict action and the immediate arrest of the alleged killer.

Very sad case here. Both are here sufferers.Just look into the foto here.We can say body language or face expression many things .In a marriage both should understand and love must be there. Here this is not there. In Hindus dowry case many times splits .They dont have time to understand each other before .But the man here has gone too far.Suppose girl doesnt want intimacy for some reasons ,leave her some time and ask what is the reason. But murdering is too much.Parents too should have intermediated ,counselling her.God knows what was wrong.May her soul rest in peace. For parents heartfelt sympathies. For them a child lost. Now he should be found and needed hard punishment.

"Dispute involving dowry harassment and refusal of physical intimacy." What so ever, Naveen crossed all the legal or humanitarian/moral/religious principles and butchered his wife in a crude way! He doesn't deserve mercy, sympathy. Capital punishment without second thought. Devil should be pushed back to Hell. (ever lasting inferno)
