Mangaluru, Nov 25: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, proudly announces the successful completion of an international collaborative project titled “Enhancements to the Ardupilot Mission Planner Software.” The project was undertaken by four students of the college, Muhammad Saheed, Shovin J D’Souza, Nithin, and Vyasa M Nayak as part of the ongoing partnership between the UAS programme of Kansas State University (KSU), USA, and SJEC.
Conducted from October 2024 to April 2025, this initiative provided students with global exposure, hands-on research experience, and mentorship from distinguished faculty members of both institutions. Their work focused on improving features and usability within the Ardupilot Mission Planner Software, contributing to advancements in UAV systems and mission-planning technologies.

The project was guided by an expert panel of faculty mentors:

• Nathan Maresch, senior engineer & UAS Flight Instructor, Kansas State University
• Dr Binu K G, professor, mechanical engineering, SJEC
• Vijay Ganesh, assistant professor, ECE, SJEC
