Kundapur, Dec 1: Setting a true example of social responsibility, the Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) Department and the NSS unit of Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapur (MITK), extended financial support of Rs 10,000 to Spandana, a special school for differently-abled children in Brahmavara.
With the objective of encouraging and supporting the children, a team from MITK visited the school and directly handed over the donation cheque to the students.

The program was carried out under the leadership of head of the department professor Karthikeyan, with the support of professor Nirmal, Dr Sam, professor Farana and second-year students. A major focus of the visit was to instill social sensitivity and a sense of responsibility among the students.
Speaking on the occasion, professor Karthikeyan said, “Only when qualities such as humanity, compassion and social awareness grow alongside education, will true responsible citizens be created.”
The staff of Spandana School expressed their heartfelt gratitude to MIT for this meaningful contribution and appreciated the humanitarian gesture on behalf of the children.
This initiative taken by MIT through its NSS unit further strengthens the institution’s commitment towards social service and its bond with the community.
