Bantwal: Loreto English Medium High School CBSE hosts Annual Sports Meet

Bantwal, Dec 6: Loreto English Medium High School CBSE organised its Annual Sports Meet with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The school campus was filled with excitement as students, teachers and parents gathered to celebrate the spirit of sports.

The programme was graced by esteemed dignitaries school manager Fr Francis Crasta, Fr Vincent Lobo, administrator, Father Muller Hospital, school principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis, parish council vice president Cyprian D’Souza, PTA vice president Rodney Ivan D’Souza, along with PTA council members and management committee members, who adorned the dais.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony, where dignitaries hoisted the school flag, marking the official beginning of the celebrations. The sports flame was then lit, symbolizing the spirit of competition. A torch relay was held, carried by students who had achieved success in sports, adding an inspiring touch to the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the march past, executed smartly by the young athletes, showcasing discipline and coordination. Students performed a colorful drill display, adding splendor to the event.

The chief guest Fr Vincent Lobo in his address congratulated the students for their active participation and encouraged them to always play with true sportsmanship. He also narrated inspirational stories to motivate young learners to believe in themselves.

Manager Fr Francis Crasta appreciated the sincere efforts of the staff and students in organising the meet successfully. He advised the children to practice sports regularly for their physical and mental growth.

As a gesture of gratitude, the donors were felicitated for their continuous support. The Annual Sports Meet was officially opened by the dignitaries, with the release of white doves symbolizing limitless capability, peace, and freedom

Ashel from grade 9 welcomed the gathering, Daivik from grade 8 proposed the vote of thanks. Praina, from grade 7, served as the event’s compère.

Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of athletic events and competitions, displaying talent, teamwork and determination. Cheers and applause from spectators made the atmosphere lively and encouraging.

The closing ceremony took place in the evening, where individual champions were honoured for their exceptional performances.
