Mangaluru, Dec 11: The Expert Ease 2025 – Advanced Faculty Development Programme (FDP) themed 'Innovative pedagogic strategies for effective teaching – Engage | innovate | transform' was inaugurated on November 28 at the Conference Hall of AJ Hospital & Research Centre, Kuntikana, Mangaluru. The two-day programme, held on November 28 and 29, was organized by the AJ Institute of Hospital Management in collaboration with AJ Hospital & Research Centre.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Dr Rashmi Jain, professor of ophthalmology, Yenepoya Medical College. The guest of honour, Dr Sunitha Saldanha, dean, YFAHP and professor & head of hospital administration, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), extended her appreciation for the initiative.







The chief guest remarked that the educators who participated in the FDP 'reflect the passion to constantly upgrade themselves and give their students something meaningful to take back'.
The event was further graced by Dr Prashanth Marla K, medical director, AJ Hospital & Research Centre; Dr Amitha P Marla, director – medical administration; Vijaya P, principal, AJ Institute of Hospital Management; and Averil Rebello, associate professor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
Across the two days, seven expert resource persons delivered impactful sessions covering AI-driven teaching tools, gamification, smart assessment strategies, flipped classroom pedagogy, microteaching, OSCE/OSPE frameworks, and reflective teaching practices. Each session combined conceptual insights with hands-on application, offering participants practical methods to strengthen classroom engagement and teaching effectiveness.
The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty across Mangaluru, Udupi, Shivamogga, and Goa, representing diverse disciplines including ayurveda, allied health sciences, nursing, physiotherapy, hospital administration, and management studies. Delegates from 19 institutions took part, underscoring a strong collective commitment to advancing teaching-learning practices and fostering academic excellence in the healthcare education sector.
