New Delhi, Dec 24: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday concluded hearings in the high-profile civil suit concerning the personal estate of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur and reserved its order on an interim injunction sought by his children from an earlier marriage with actor Karisma Kapoor.
The bench noted that all parties had submitted their written arguments in compliance with earlier court directions, bringing the hearing on the interim plea to a close. The court will now examine the submissions and other material on record before deciding on the request for interim relief.

The legal dispute involves competing claims over Kapur’s personal assets. Through the interim injunction application, his children have sought protective measures to prevent any actions that could affect the estate while the matter is pending before the court. The court did not indicate when it would pronounce its order, which is expected to influence the management and control of the estate until the final resolution.
The controversy erupted following Kapur’s death earlier this year, triggering a high-profile inheritance dispute. The industrialist, a prominent businessman with substantial personal wealth, is survived by his widow and children from two marriages. Tensions emerged over the distribution of his assets, with the children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor challenging a will reportedly executed shortly before his death that allegedly favors the widow.
The plaintiffs have questioned the authenticity of the document and the circumstances surrounding its disclosure, seeking a full accounting of the assets and court protection to prevent any transfer or dilution of the estate during litigation. The case has also raised broader issues related to access to financial information, transparency in handling of assets, and the preservation of the estate until the court delivers its final verdict.
With multiple family members asserting competing claims, the dispute has highlighted deep divisions over inheritance rights and the future management of Sunjay Kapur’s personal wealth.
