Hyderabad, Jan 1: Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan has kicked off 2026 on a cinematic high note, much to the delight of his fans, by signing a new film directed by Surender Reddy and written by Vakkantham Vamsi. The announcement was made on Thursday, January 1, by producer Ram Talluri on social media.

“With folded hands and a full heart. My dream begins as Production No.1 under #JaithraRamaMovies. Named with love & blessings by our beloved Power Star (PSPK). Teaming up with Surender Reddy & Vakkantham Vamsi. Forever grateful. Forever proud. This dream project is LOADING,” wrote Talluri.

Vakkantham Vamsi also confirmed the collaboration, tweeting, “It’s not just a happy new year, it’s the ‘happiest’ new year! Proud to be a part of this dream project with the one and only #PSPK #blessed #bestteam.”

Fans had speculated that Pawan Kalyan had retired from films after becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. While he completed pending projects in 2025, no new ventures were announced—until now.

Pawan had previously agreed to a Surender Reddy project, but it never materialized. With the new announcement, it appears the actor-politician has revived the film, rekindling fan excitement.

Over the years, Pawan has balanced politics with cinema. After focusing on political work from 2008 and founding his party in 2014, he returned to films sporadically. Notable releases include:

• Hari Hara Veera Mallu (2025, directed by Jyothi Krishna) – lukewarm response

• They Call Him OG (2025, directed by Sujeeth) – highest grosser

• Ustaad Bhagat Singh (Harish Shankar) – yet to release

With the new 2026 project underway, fans are eager to see the Power Star back on screen, blending his cinematic charisma with the thrill of a dream project.
