Mumbai, Jan 6: Actor Sudha Chandran has strongly responded to social media trolling following the circulation of videos from a recent jagran, asserting that her spiritual experiences are deeply personal and not open to public judgement.
Speaking to Zoom, Sudha addressed the backlash that erupted after clips from the devotional gathering went viral, with several users questioning the authenticity of her emotional state and branding it as exaggerated or staged. The actor made it clear that she does not feel the need to justify her faith to anyone.

“I am not here to justify. I have my perception towards life. I have certain connections that I respect. Mujhe logon se koi lena dena nahi hai. Joh troll karte hai, acchi baat hai, khush rahe apne zindagi mein,” she said, adding that what truly matters to her are the millions who connected with and resonated with the moment.
Emphasising her independence, Sudha said she has always lived life on her own terms, with dignity and self-respect, and will continue to do so with faith in the divine. Recalling earlier phases of her life, she noted that she has faced judgement even after her life-altering accident, but time and success have always silenced critics.
“In my life, I have never thought about log kya bolenge. Even after my accident, people questioned my choices. But when it becomes a success story, those same people talk only about that,” she said.
The controversy began earlier this week after multiple videos from the jagran surfaced online. The visuals showed Sudha in a trance-like, emotionally charged state during the bhajan, moving energetically around the hall. In some moments, attendees were seen trying to restrain her, with a few clips showing her biting those attempting to stop her. She was seen dressed in a red and white saree, wearing a ‘Jai Mata Di’ headband.
On the work front, Sudha Chandran has recently earned praise for her performance as Yamini Raheja in the first two seasons of Naagin. Her long television career also includes popular shows such as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Mata Ki Chowki, Kalyug Mein Bhakti Ki Shakti, among others.
