Hyderabad, Jan 9: Actor Anushka Shetty has offered a rare and touching glimpse into her personal life, revealing a childhood love story that has now captured the attention of social media.
In a recent interview, the acclaimed actress candidly spoke about her “first love” — a memory she says has remained one of the most beautiful moments of her life.
Recalling the incident, Anushka said she was studying in the 6th standard when a boy approached her and confessed, “I love you.” At that young age, she admitted she did not fully understand the meaning of the words. “I didn’t know what ‘I love you’ really meant then,” she said, adding with a smile that when he proposed, she simply agreed. The innocent exchange, she noted, has stayed with her as a cherished memory.

The revelation has sparked widespread interest, particularly as Anushka, now in her forties, remains unmarried and has largely stayed away from discussing her personal life. Her silence on marriage has long been a topic of discussion within film circles, making this candid reflection all the more striking.
While her personal life continues to intrigue fans, Anushka’s professional journey remains equally compelling. She rose to prominence in Tollywood in a short span by delivering a string of hits and sharing screen space with some of the biggest stars in the industry, including Nagarjuna, Prabhas, Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati. Her ability to balance commercial success with strong performances helped her carve a distinct and enduring identity as a leading actress.
Anushka made her Tollywood debut with Super and went on to create a sensation with the women-centric film Arundhati, a landmark success that transformed her career. The film’s success opened the doors to a series of high-profile projects and established her as a force to reckon with in the industry.
Her career reached new heights with pan-India blockbusters such as Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion and Singam 3, which not only redefined her stardom but also cemented her status as one of Indian cinema’s most recognisable faces. Alongside large-scale commercial films, Anushka has consistently championed strong, female-led narratives.
Even after stepping away from the spotlight for an extended period following Baahubali, Anushka continues to command attention. She returned to cinema with Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty and was most recently seen in Ghaati. Though the film did not meet expectations at the box office, her performance once again drew praise from audiences and critics alike.
As Anushka Shetty continues to balance selective cinematic choices with a guarded personal life, her simple, heartfelt confession about her first love has struck a chord — reminding fans that even the biggest stars carry memories of innocent beginnings.
