Mumbai, Jan 12: Comedian Sunil Grover’s pitch-perfect impersonation of Aamir Khan has not only gone viral but also earned glowing praise from the superstar himself. Aamir Khan Productions recently released a hilarious promotional video for its upcoming film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, featuring both Grover and Aamir, which has left audiences in splits.

The video opens with an unexpected twist, showing Aamir Khan being forcibly thrown out of his own office by security guards. A flashback then reveals the comic chaos that led to the scene. Vir Das, who makes his directorial debut with Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos under Aamir Khan Productions, is seen entering the office, only to be greeted by Sunil Grover — dressed exactly like Aamir Khan and convincingly portraying him.

Introducing himself as Aamir, Grover offers Vir Das a hefty bonus cheque and confidently promises a sequel, declaring that if the film is not a superhit, then his name is not Aamir Khan. He even assures an Oscar-worthy success, much to Vir’s amusement. The real confusion unfolds when the actual Aamir Khan walks in and attempts to take control of the situation. However, when Vir continues to address Sunil as “Aamir”, the superstar loses patience and calls in security.

In a comic turn of events, Sunil Grover distracts the guards by offering them generous cheques, prompting them to escort the real Aamir Khan out of the office instead. The sequence ends with everyone laughing, highlighting Grover’s impeccable comic timing and uncanny resemblance to the actor.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Aamir Khan Productions cheekily wrote, “@whosunilgrover itna bhi natural mat kar bhai, asli Aamir ka pata nahi chal raha hai,” further fuelling the buzz around the clip.

Sunil Grover’s mimicry had earlier caught Aamir Khan’s attention during a recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, where Grover portrayed the actor with remarkable accuracy. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Aamir said he wouldn’t even call it mimicry, adding that it felt like watching himself on screen. He admitted that the performance left him laughing uncontrollably and praised it for being completely free of malice.

Directed by Vir Das, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is set to hit theatres on January 16. The film stars Vir Das, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sanjay Dutt, Sharib Hashmi and Imran Khan, with Aamir Khan appearing in a cameo role.
