Beltangady, Jan 23: Two persons accused of attempting to steal a motorcycle were caught by members of the public after a chase, allegedly assaulted, tied to a tree and later handed over to Venur police at Palaragoli in Marodi village of Beltangady taluk.

The incident occurred between 2.10 am and 2.30 am on January 20. The accused have been identified as Moyiddin Nasir and Abdul Samad, residents of Kuloor in Mangaluru city. According to the complaint, the duo was spotted near the house of Deviprasad. A neighbour alerted the family after noticing suspicious activity in the area.
