Uttar Pradesh, Jan 24: Born in a small farming family in Kachanav village of Amethi district, Ankur Tripathi dared to dream big from a very young age. The son of farmer Surendra Narayan Tripathi and homemaker Saroj Tripathi, Ankur grew up in modest surroundings where determination mattered more than resources.

Ankur completed his early education at DAV College, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, and finished his Class 12 at Vidya Mandir. He later earned a BTech in Computer Science from Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya College, Gorakhpur. Despite having a technical background, his heart was set on the civil services, a dream he carried since childhood.

In 2022, Ankur resumed focused preparation for the UPSC examination. His hard work paid off when he cleared the exam in his first attempt, securing an All India Rank of 513 and joining the Indian Police Service in the North-East cadre. However, contentment eluded him, as his long-cherished goal was to become an IAS officer.

Even while undergoing IPS training in Hyderabad, Ankur pushed himself relentlessly, studying for nearly 12 to 16 hours a day. He cut himself off from social media and distractions, channelling all his energy into preparation. His perseverance bore fruit in the UPSC 2025 examination, where he secured an impressive All India Rank of 50, earning his place in the Indian Administrative Service.

Ankur credits his success to the unwavering support of his family and relatives. News of his achievement sparked celebrations in his native village, where locals, relatives and leaders welcomed him with flowers and drumbeats, proud of a son of the soil who turned discipline and determination into an extraordinary success story.
