Mathura, Feb 10: A couple and their three minor children were found dead inside their house in Khapparpur village of Mathura district on Tuesday, with police suspecting it to be a case of mass suicide.
According to police, a suicide note, a message written on a wall and a video recorded by the head of the family were recovered from the house. However, details regarding the contents of the note and the video were not immediately disclosed.

Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said the deceased have been identified as Manish Kumar (35), a farmer, his wife, aged around 32, and their three minor children, including two daughters and a son. “All five were found dead inside a room of their house,” he said.
Police said they were alerted about the incident by Manish Kumar’s brother. When the children did not come out to play in the morning, the brother grew suspicious, jumped over the boundary wall, broke open the door and found all family members dead inside the house.
He was accompanied by other villagers, following which police were informed. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, and further investigation is underway, officials said.
