Farrukhabad, Apr 2: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly killed and her body disposed of in a sack near the Kali river, triggering shock and anger among local residents. The incident occurred in the Mohammadabad Kotwali area, where the decomposed body was later recovered by police.
According to officials, the body was found along the Chhibramau road near the cremation ground of Kumhauli village, around 20 metres from the riverbank. The recovery followed interrogation of the accused, who reportedly led police to the location.

The case was registered on March 30 after the victim’s father, Ajay Kumar Pal from Sirauli village, lodged a complaint against three individuals—Kuldeep, Rohit, and a minor—alleging abduction and theft. He claimed that on the night of March 28–29, the accused mixed an intoxicant in milk, rendering the family unconscious before taking away his daughter along with jewellery and cash worth about Rs 50,000.
During the investigation, police questioning led to a breakthrough, with the accused confessing to the crime. Based on their statements, the girl’s body was recovered from where it had been hidden in a sack.
Senior officers, including Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh, along with other officials, reached the spot and carried out a detailed inspection. A forensic team was also deployed to gather evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said that initial inputs suggested the case might involve elopement. However, further investigation revealed that the accused juvenile allegedly killed the girl after being pressured for marriage. The body was first hidden in a field and later dumped near the river.
The victim’s family has expressed grief and alleged delays in initial police action, though authorities say the probe was intensified later. Officials have assured strict legal action against all those involved as the investigation continues.
