Nepal Parliament to meet today, key ordinances set for tabling

Kathmandu, Apr 6: Separate meetings of Nepal’s House of Representatives and National Assembly are scheduled to be held on Monday, with key legislative business lined up.

The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting will begin at 1 pm, where three ordinances are set to be tabled. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung will present the ‘Voter List (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’, ‘HoR Member Election (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’, and ‘Nepal Special Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’ for approval.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly (NA) will convene earlier at 12:15 pm at Singha Durbar. During the session, NA member Prem Prasad Dangal is scheduled to propose Lila Kumari Bhandari for election as the Assembly’s Vice Chairperson.

Additionally, Prime Minister Balendra Shah is expected to table the 24th annual report of the National Human Rights Commission for the fiscal year 2023–24 during the proceedings.
