New Delhi, Apr 6: Two prominent colleges of Delhi University — Ramjas College and Miranda House — were evacuated on Monday morning after receiving bomb threats via email, police said.
According to Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads and dog units were immediately deployed to both campuses, and thorough searches are underway to rule out any threat.
In a related development, multiple schools in Chandigarh and parts of Punjab, along with the Punjab and Haryana Secretariat and the Ferozepur district court, also received similar bomb threat emails early in the day. The messages were reportedly sent by a group identifying itself as the “Khalistan National Army,” prompting swift evacuations and security checks.

Security agencies deployed bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs across all affected locations as a precautionary measure.
The incident comes days after the office of Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh received a bomb threat email warning of a possible explosion. The message, sent to the mayor’s official email address, triggered panic and led to heightened security and detailed inspections of the premises.
Police said cyber experts are currently tracing the origin of the emails to identify those responsible.
