Mangaluru: Visit to Srinivas University by alumni after 25 years

Mangaluru, Apr 15: Alumni of the 1997 batch from the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism of Srinivas University visited their alma mater on April 11 to express heartfelt gratitude. On the occasion, they honoured esteemed faculty members and the Chancellor.

The event brought together respected teachers who had shaped generations of students onto a single platform, and they also interacted with current students.

In his keynote address, the Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao, praised the initiative of the alumni, stating that such reunions strengthen the institution’s legacy and inspire present students. He also urged continued collaboration between alumni and the college through mentorship, scholarships, and industry partnerships.

Registrar of Srinivas University, Dr Anil Kumar; development registrar, Dr Ajay Kumar; finance officer, Prof Arpana L Bhatta; and dean of the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Prof Prashanth Prabhu, were present as other invited dignitaries.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial cake cutting. This was followed by a welcome address highlighting the enduring bond between alumni and faculty. Alumni representatives shared that the guidance and values imparted by their teachers formed the foundation of their professional journeys. Several faculty members who had served for decades were honored with mementos.

The visit rekindled memories of classrooms, laboratories, and campus life. Nostalgic moments, cultural performances by alumni, and a visual tribute to retired professors added emotional depth to the occasion.
