Mumbai, Apr 21: Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King has secured a massive all-India theatrical distribution deal worth Rs 250 crore, underlining the huge expectations surrounding the project.

According to reports, Pen Marudhar has acquired the theatrical rights for the film, marking one of the biggest distribution deals of the year. The company shares a long-standing association with Shah Rukh Khan’s banner, having previously distributed films such as Jawan, Dunki, Zero, Badla and Ittefaq.

Mounted on a reported budget of Rs 400 crore, King is one of the most anticipated Indian films in recent times. The action spectacle features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma and Arshad Warsi in key roles.

The film is slated for a grand theatrical release during the Christmas 2026 weekend, a prime festive window that traditionally sees major box office clashes. King is expected to face stiff competition from Hollywood biggies such as Avengers: Doomsday, Dune 3 and Jumanji.

Industry insiders say Shah Rukh Khan was keen on partnering with a strong distributor to ensure a wide nationwide release, especially given the crowded release calendar in December.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously collaborated with the actor on the blockbuster Pathaan.

With a massive budget, star power, and high-profile distribution backing, King is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic releases of 2026.
