Mumbai, Apr 25: Acclaimed Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said he does not consider himself an icon, emphasising that he is still learning and evolving as an actor despite decades in the film industry.
Known for powerful performances in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Manjhi The Mountain Man, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Thackeray, Nawazuddin said he does not view himself as having “arrived” as an actor.
In an interview, he stated that acting is a continuous journey and not a destination. He remarked that becoming a good actor is a lifelong pursuit and even an entire lifetime may not be enough to master the craft.

The actor, who has been active in cinema since the late 1990s, stressed the importance of patience and discipline in acting, adding that he remains committed to improving with every role.
On the work front, Nawazuddin will next be seen in Main Actor Nahi Hoon and Noorani Chehra. He has also joined the cast of the sequel to Tumbbad, where he is expected to play the antagonist.
In 2025, he featured in Raat Akeli Hai The Bansal Murders as Inspector Jatil Yadav and in Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
Thamma, backed by Dinesh Vijan, also starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, and was released in theatres in October last year.
