Bengaluru, May 3: The state government has taken a significant step toward addressing alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) by forming a house committee to conduct a comprehensive probe.
The committee, comprising members from all political parties in the legislative assembly, will be headed by senior Congress MLA RV Deshpande.
The primary objectives of the committee are to thoroughly investigate the malpractices within the KPSC, suggest necessary reforms to prevent future recurrences, and enhance the transparency and credibility of the commission.

The committee includes several prominent members, including MLAs Hampanagouda Badarli, HC Balakrishna, AS Ponnanna, KM Shivalingegowda, Raghavendra Basavaraj Hitnal K, Roopakala M, Araga Jnanendra, S Suresh Kumar, Mahesh Tenginakai, and MT Krishnappa.
The house committee has been given a three-month duration to submit its comprehensive report. The report is expected to provide recommendations on measures to curb irregularities, changes to existing regulations, and systemic improvements within the recruitment process.
This move comes in the wake of recent allegations regarding KPSC recruitments and questions surrounding the transparency of the commission. The government’s decision is seen as a vital step toward restoring the confidence of young candidates and job aspirants in the state’s recruitment system.
