Thiruvananthapuram, May 8: A new book authored by senior Congress leader V D Satheesan, who is among the frontrunners for the post of Kerala chief minister, will be released on Saturday.

The Malayalam book, titled Adam Nee Evide Aakunnu, has been listed by DC Books on its online platform with May 9 marked as the release date.

Categorised under speeches, the 200-page book is priced at Rs 252.

According to the publisher’s description, Satheesan has written about the influence of the Bible on his political journey.

“The book ‘Adam Nee Evide Aakunnu’ contains 32 speeches delivered by him. It is a collection of speeches addressed to various Christian communities,” the publisher stated on its website.

Satheesan is widely known for his interest in reading and is frequently seen carrying books during his travels.

He emerged as one of the key faces of the United Democratic Front campaign during the recently concluded Kerala Assembly elections, in which the alliance secured 102 out of 140 seats.

Along with K C Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala, Satheesan is considered one of the leading contenders for the chief minister’s post. The final decision is expected to be taken by the Congress high command in the coming days.

Meanwhile, supporters of Satheesan have staged demonstrations at various places across Kerala demanding that he be chosen as the next chief minister.
