Chamarajanagar, May 9: In a rare and amusing incident, a monkey walked into a salon, sat like a regular customer, and appeared to get a ‘haircut’ at Santhemarahalli village in Chamarajanagar district. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

According to salon owner Devaraju, a few monkeys had been roaming around the shop for the past several days. On Thursday, one of them entered the salon directly.

“The monkey stood in front of the mirror for a few minutes looking at itself. Initially, I was scared. But I was surprised to see how calm it was,” Devaraju said.

He said that when the monkey sat on the salon chair, he gently began massaging its head. “At first I was afraid, but it seemed to enjoy the massage very much. It even sat with its eyes closed for some time,” he added.

Later, the monkey appeared to gesture as though it wanted a haircut. Devaraju said he then picked up scissors and a comb and pretended to trim its hair.

What surprised everyone was that the monkey calmly cooperated like a regular customer. Even when others in the shop tried to chase it away, the monkey refused to leave until the “grooming session” was complete, he said.

The unusual scenes were captured on mobile phones by Devaraju’s friends, and the videos and photographs have now gone viral on social media.
