Chennai, May 9: Rahul Gandhi is likely to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Vijay, who is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in Chennai on Sunday, according to reports.

The swearing-in ceremony of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai at 10 am.

Reports said Rahul Gandhi is expected to travel from Delhi to attend the ceremony following the Congress party’s support to the Vijay-led alliance during the government formation process in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay is set to assume office after the TVK emerged as the single largest party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and later secured support from Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML to cross the majority mark in the Assembly.

The political developments marked a major shift in Tamil Nadu politics, ending decades of dominance by the DMK-AIADMK political landscape.
