Mangaluru: Santosh D'Souza Bajpe re-elected president of Catholic Sabha Central

Mangaluru, May 11: The annual election for the year 2026-27 of the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (R.) organization of Mangalore diocese was held Sunday, May 10, at the Sabha Bhavan of the residence of the diocese. Santosh D'Souza Bajpe was re-elected unanimously as the new central president.

Dr J B Saldanha, the central spiritual director, guided the election through prayer before the election. President Santosh D’Souza Bajpe, first vice president Steeven Rodrigues Valencia, second vice president Albert Sunil Monis Belthangady, general secretary Wilma Monteiro Derebail, joint secretary Tracy Rodrigues Ammembal, treasurer Francis Monteiro Mariashram Talapady, joint treasurer Stany Miranda Neerude were all elected unopposed.

Former president Nigel Pereira was the returning officer and former president Andrew L Noronha was the returning officer. On this occasion, Dr J B Saldanha was felicitated for his dedicated service as the central spiritual director for the past 5 years.

All the elected office bearers were felicitated by Dr J B Saldanha, the central spiritual director. Saldanha, immediate past president Alvin D'Souza Paneer, former central presidents Gerald D'Costa, Lancey D'Cunha, Anil Lobo, Plevi D'Souza, Stany Lobo and all the members of the executive committee congratulated the new office bearers.

President Santosh D'Souza Bajpe expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those who loved him and elected him as the president for the second time.
