MIT Kundapur selected for NAIN 2.0 scheme, secures Rs 1.86 crore grant

Media Release

Kundapur, May 11: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MITK) has been selected under the prestigious New Age Innovation Network 2.0 (NAIN 2.0) initiative of the Karnataka government and has secured a significant grant of Rs 1.86 crore for a period of three years.

The recognition marks a major milestone in the institution’s journey towards fostering a strong ecosystem for research, innovation, and startup incubation among students.

NAIN 2.0 is implemented by the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) under the department of electronics, information technology, biotechnology, and science & technology, government of Karnataka. As part of the initiative, MITK will work jointly with the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad.

The programme aims to support innovative student projects by providing mentorship, industry exposure, and implementation assistance, thereby enabling students to transform their creative ideas into practical innovations within the campus itself.

Only a limited number of engineering colleges across Karnataka have been selected for this prestigious scheme, and MIT Kundapur being among them is considered a matter of pride for the institution.

Under the initiative, each selected student project will receive government funding of up to Rs 5 lac, helping students undertake high-quality and impactful projects. More than 40 students are expected to benefit from the scheme this year, while nearly 120 students are likely to gain support over the next three years.
